Juha Törmä (2001–2015)

Juha Törmä conducted Chamber Choir Camena from 2001 to the Autumn 2015. He is a all-round music professional. He graduated as piano teacher from the Tampere Academy of Music in 1986. After that he continued music studies in the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Törmä studied conducting an orchestra under the guidance of Finnish master conductors Osmo Vänskä, Lauri Siimes and Jorma Panula. He finished the degree in conducting an orchestra in 1992. In Sibelius Academy, Törmä also studied conducting a choir under the guidance of Finnish choir conducting masters Matti Hyökki and Heikki Liimola. He finished the degree in conducting a choir in 1997.

Juha Törmä has performed with several orchestras, and he has made arrangements for both orchestras and choirs. At the moment Juha Törmä works as a production manager at a small record label and conducts Chamber Choir Camena.

 

Johanna Lantto (Spring season 2005)

Johanna Lantto (b. 1980) has been studying choir conducting at the Pirkanmaa University of Applied Sciences under the guidance of Kari Turunen since 2001. She has also participated in the choir conducting class at the Klemetti Academy in Orivesi under the guidance of Jani Sivén, Heikki Liimola and Seppo Murto. In addition to her music studies, Johanna Lantto also studies environmental technology at the Tampere University of Technology. She has conducted several choirs in Tampere and its surroundings.

Johanna Laukkanen (Spring season 2005)

Johanna Laukkanen (b. 1978) has been studying choir conducting at the Pirkanmaa University of Applied Sciences under the guidance of Kari Turunen since 2001.

Saara Perkola (Autumn season 2004)

Saara Perkola (b. 1978) conducted Chamber Choir Camena in the Autumn season of 2004. She has graduated from the Pirkanmaa University of Applied Sciences, with clarinet as her main instrument. She started studying choir conducting in 2000 under the guidance of Kari Turunen.

Saara Perkola has studies choir conducting at the Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia under the guidance of Jani Sivén. She has been a concert master and assistant conductor in several oratorio and opera productions of the Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia. She conducts several choir and vocal ensembles in Helsinki and teaches vocal group singing within the Suomen Laulu mixed choir.

Ivelina Petrova-Kinnunen (1994–2000)

Ivelina Petrova-Kinnunen (b. 1961) was born in Bulgaria where she studied piano and choir conducting at the Varna Music Lyceum and at the Sofia Music Academy. She graduated from Sofia Music Academy in 1987. After that she conducted the Dobrich Children's Choir and Sofia Chamber Choir. She has been living in Finland since 1990, and she conducted Chamber Choir Camena from 1994 to 2000.

Olli Vehkavaara (1980–1993)

Olli Vehkavaara, dir. cant. (b. 1941) was one the founders of Chamber Choir Camena in 1979. He started in base voice section, but in the Autumn season 1980 he was appointed conductor.

Olli Vehkavaara is an elementary school teacher, and he has been working as a teacher in Tampere since 1964. Music has always been an important part of his life. He started studying piano in 1953 and continued his extensive music studies that covered piano, singing and music theory at the Tampere Music Academy. He specialised as music teacher in 1974.
